Clinical Use of Interpretive Dynamic Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (IDTAP)—Croatian Association for Transactional Analysis (UTA)

  • London United Kingdom (map)

IDTAP is a distinct approach in transactional analysis (TA) psychotherapy. It is an approach that is grounded in Berne’s original TA theory and conduct of clinical practice, combined with contemporary psychodynamic and psychoanalytic concepts and research findings. It is a three-person approach, rooted in the work with transference and countertransference, and characterised by therapeutic neutrality.

During the psychotherapeutic process, IDTAP focuses on the moment-to-moment intrapsychic and interpersonal dynamics, analysing both conscious and unconscious processes that are present at the time.

In a one-day psychotherapy training seminar Ales Zivkovic will be presenting the clinical use of interpretive dynamic transactional analysis psychotherapy (IDTAP). The seminar is organised in association with the Croatian Association for Transactional Analysis (UTA) and is open to non-members. It is aimed at qualified and trainee psychotherapists in advanced clinical training and will be held online.

The training will consist of:

  • The TA and psychoanalytic foundation of IDTAP, which will include the analysis of Berne’s conceptualisation of TA.

  • Introduction to the dynamic ego state model (Zivkovic, 2022) and its differentiation from Berne’s structural and functional ego state models.

  • The use of transference and countertransference for the purpose of analysis and intervention in IDTAP.

  • The basic principles of contracting for outcome and the importance of a firm treatment frame.

  • Etc.

Registrations are possible here.
